HDX air filters are built with a durable, moisture-resistant frame and wire-supported media for enhanced strength and rigidity. The wire-backed pleated media provides a large surface area, boosting the filter’s dust-holding capacity and improving its efficiency. The filter media is electrostatically charged to attract, capture, and trap particles that would otherwise pass through. Rated between MERV 8 and 13, the filter’s performance is further defined by its Filter Performance Rating (FPR), which considers MERV rating, E1 efficiency, pressure drop, and dust-holding capacity. The MERV rating measures how effectively a filter traps particles-higher ratings capture more particles. E1 efficiency indicates how well it captures the smallest particles, while the pressure drop shows how much energy your HVAC system uses to push air through the filter. The dust-holding capacity reflects how much dust the filter can hold throughout its life. HDX filters are easy to replace, ensuring your indoor air quality remains optimal while protecting your HVAC system and maintaining efficiency.
