Description
This Birm iron filter system uses granular Birm media for removal of dissolved iron and manganese from raw water supplies. The system includes a Fleck 2510SXT digital control valve, 1 inch stainless steel by-pass, 1 cu. ft. of Birm, 1 sleeve of gravel, and a funnel and cap. Birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and iron compounds, and it is cleaned by periodic backwashing without chemical regeneration.
